Who We Are and What We Are Looking For…
We are champions of children and educational innovators. We are passionate about helping students discover, cultivate, and share their unique gifts with the world. We are passionate about transforming Arizona’s educational system to be holistic, where students graduate knowing their life purpose, their dreams in concrete SMART goal format, having completed some dream goals, apprenticeships with local businesses, and learned/used some real life adulting skills. We are on a crusade to save the world, by helping to modernize the school system, thus helping many children thrive in today’s world and beyond 🙂
We are looking for a fellow champion of children and education to join us in this truly world-wide effort to modernize education. This person would be an experienced high school educator with strong project-based learning experience, fluent in English and Spanish. They are able to assist students with Humanities topics (English and Social Studies) and have experience doing something in real life, related to humanities. For example, our STEM teacher has 6 years of engineering experience. Our Co-Founder is also a professional musician/producer. We lead by example with our own passions.
Your four primary responsibilities/objectives will be:
– Facilitating a “Learner-Driven” School Environment: Guide students to take ownership of their work and lives. Students leading morning meeting, shout-outs, Mastermind meetings, cleaning, and more. Failing and getting back up is a part of the learning process. You’re there as a guide, not a teacher. Facilitate Socratic discussions and projects. Humanities includes English and Social Studies.
– Student Accountability & Growth: Hold students accountable for their academic and personal goal progress. Help students progress to complete courses as a slightly challenging pace for the student for optimal brain growth (you know, juuuuust at the cusp of challenge for the learner that is just the right amount of challenge/struggle). This includes inputting academic grades, other measures of accountability, student growth notes (all basically weekly coaching).
– Student Safety: Ensuring that every student always has eyes on and is safe.
– Family Liaison: Be in regular communication with families. You can help the family to direct how they can help at home for best growth. Also ensure that families are able to self-serve – that they know how to check on progress and know where their kids are supposed to be. Total ownership on students and their guardians for their own success. Empower them with tools.
